Description
Tube shaped splint with rubber spring on the volar surface helps extend finger and
mobilize stiff joints without putting pressure over the PIP joint. The spring lifts the finger outward and
upward. The spring also helps prevent the splint from migrating distally. Use to treat any degree of flexion
contractures. Tube is flexible for limited functionality of finger. The outer rubber surface provides grip
surface while using finger. Distal end of splint can be trimmed back to monitor finger tip for circulatory
problems. Ideal for a patient lacking sensation in the finger because it does not provide pressure over POP
joint. Circumferential design of splint helps reduce edema. If the finger feels uncomfortably warm, simply
make a slit in the tube over the PIP joint for ventilation.
Not to be used over open wound or stitches!
To determine size, measure circumference of PIP joint. A finger with severe PIP
joint flexion contracture may require a larger size than indicated by measuring.
